Purdue University

Jack wanted to study industrial design at an engineering school so he could also learn the technology component of the field. He found the perfect combination at Purdue, a BFA in Industrial Design with a strong engineering component which focuses on design of manufactured products as well as having a deep visual arts and material science program so he could learn all facets required for a profession in industrial design. He also wanted to attend a larger school with the opportunity to play club soccer and continue to particpate in Formula SAE racing, a student club to design, build and compete in auto racing.

After much researching and visiting, he found that there are just a few programs which leaned more to function then to form for industrial engineering. Some of these programs required a portfolio for admissions so we curated his work showing both observational drawings and design work. He submitted a portfolio to all schools, including ones which did not require it, including Purdue.

After acceptance to a number of programs, Jack returned to visit his top contenders to be sure they had the combination of academics and campus culture that he wanted in his college experience and settled on Purdue.
