Spring 2026

Our Spring Studios are designed for students in grades 7–10 who want a focused four-week opportunity to explore a creative discipline and experience the process of starting and finishing a piece within a concentrated time frame. Studios include options in architecture, drawing foundations, and film, allowing students to test an interest while developing new skills.

Students work online in a small group studio setting with an ARTriculate art coach, meeting live on Zoom for 1.5 hours on Saturday (April 11, 18, 25 and May 2) or Sunday (April 12, 19, 26 and May 3) afternoons. Sessions include direct instruction, guided exercises, and thoughtful critique.

Students are encouraged to communicate with their art coach between sessions to receive feedback on their progress.

Each studio concludes with a completed work and greater confidence in their developing skills.

Architecture: Design and build a 3D model

Design and build a three dimensional architectural model. Study shape, scale, proportion, and spatial relationships. Abigail guides sketching, construction, and critique to complete a refined physical model.

Film: Make a 2-minute, no dialogue film

Make a two minute, no dialogue film. Learn techniques to communicate ideas visually using time based media. Lisa guides students through structured critique and development. Film and edit on your smartphone.

Art Foundations: Draw an observational still life

Draw a focused still life from direct observation. Strengthen proportion, light, shadow, and composition through structured exercises and critique. Suzanne guides students to a finished piece with stronger control and discipline.
