National Portfolio Day

What you should know about National Portfolio Day (NPD):

What is NPD? NPD is a college fair for the visual arts where you can receive feedback from admissions representatives on your portfolio. About 50 colleges of art and design attend each NPD.

Why attend NPD? It is a great chance to get feedback on your work from experts in the field and who may decide your admissions. It is also an opportunity to learn more about specific schools and show interest in schools that you may not have a chance to visit.

Who should attend to NPD? Any high school student who is considering attending a BFA program and who has work they'd like reviewed should attend.

Where and when are the NPDs? In 2020 all NPD events have been moved to a virtual format. The schedule this year has been set by state and is listed on The National Portfolio Day website. Events begin on Saturday September 19th and end on Saturday December 5th.

Careers in the Arts

Next time you watch a performance focus on the number of creatives listed in the credits. Next time you visit your favorite coffee shop think about the creatives who created a space that you enjoy sitting in. These artists range from graphics designers to interior decorators and from lighting specialists to sound engineers. Many of them have degrees in the arts, some have degrees in allied fields. This workshop focuses on these careers, what your educational path looks like to achieve them and what it is like to be them.
