Transfer Advising.

For students wishing to transfer into BFA programs and need our expertise to guide them to selecting the right programs, and fine tune their portfolios and admissions materials.

Often students enroll in liberal arts programs and decide that they want to apply to a BFA program to focus on their art. You may need a little help to curate your portfolio, or more intense help to create work to support your application.

ARTriculate coaches help students prepare their applications for BFA programs. Often these applications require creating specific work to prove your foundational skills or showcase an artistic interest. If you need this help we’re here to work with you.

Hey Florence just wanted to update you and tell you how glad I am that I transferred it was the best decision. I love Tulane !!!

Have questions? How we work with transfer students.

  • We build a plan together with you, just as if we were helping you apply to college initially.

Some students need guidance over time. Others need help in specific areas. It depends on where you are and what you need.

The initial step is always an introductory meeting with Florence. In that meeting we where your are in the process, where you feel you need help, and how our expertise and guidance can get you accepted.

  • Transfer applications are typically due in the spring and most students contact us about six months before they are ready to apply. This allows us to provide the guidance you need as you prepare your art and writing, and for us to give you feedback in a measured and actionable timeline based on the application due dates.

Some students come to us needing curation and advice for assembling a portfolio of already created work, other students need help developing new work to demonstrate their technical skills and highlight their interests. Whichever path you find yourself on our coaches can help you achieve your goals.

It’s never too early or too late to start working together.

  • Our coaches work with transfers in a similar manner to working with high school applicants as we provide guidance on programs, creative supplements, and supporting essays.

  • We provide our transfer students with the time and guidance they need to fully support their applications. The time needed is determined by your portfolio, the application requirements, and the help you feel you need.

Most students only need a few hours of guidance but if you need more our coaches are able to give you the time you need to submit strong applications.
