Kerr Cirilo

Kerr Cirilo, Art Coach & MFA Specialist

Kerr Cirilo grew up in Oahu, Hawaii. They received their B.A. in Religion and Studio Art from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA and their MFA in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island. Their experiences as a first-generation, queer, immigrant of color heavily influence their thinking and making.

Kerr has over four years of professional art school admissions expertise having worked as an Admissions Counselor at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon and most recently as a Graduate Admissions Assistant at RISD. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, has been the recipient of multiple awards, and has recently been recognized by Aperture, Lensculture, and Der Greif

Kerr has experience teaching diverse groups of students from many different backgrounds. Most recently, he designed and taught a seminar at RISD that centered on the relationship between text and images and how this relationship not only mediates information but also power.
