Rochester Institute of Technology

“I” is a multifaceted student interested in designing the scenes and backgrounds for film, TV, video and games. She is also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and after researching many art schools to learn about their game design programs, we introduced her to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) which filled many of her criteria. It has a top rated game design program, the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID), and a co-op program, it quickly became her first choice.

After researching RIT Isabel was determined to attend, she demonstrated interest by attending National Portfolio Day and communicating regularly with the admissions department. She applied early decision as she was committed to every aspect of the school, and was also excited to learn of a special Federal scholarship for deaf and hard of hearing students. She prepared an excellent portfolio, and was accepted with a significant scholarship. She intends to study 3D Design and ASL and hopes to possibly create 3D dynamic ASL translations for the deaf and hard of hearing to participate more fully in gaming.

Thank you for all your help by the way. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you. I probably wouldn’t have heard about RIT and a lot of the rest. Thanks so much.
