Guiding your applications. From preparation to submission.

After you’ve created your College List, it’s time to start working on your applications. Most schools (except the University of California) use one of two application platforms: the Common Application or the Coalition Application but they are similar in that they both have:

  • a required essay where you are required to respond to one of seven prompts

  • an extra curricular activities section,

  • school specific guidelines for recommendations,

  • school specific prompts for supplemental essays, and

  • the ability (or requirement depending on the program or school) to submit supplemental artistic materials.

    • Visual portfolios Preparation of your portfolio, number of pieces, format, and content

    • Audition materials Preparation for auditions, monologues, and head shots

    • Film supplementals Preparation of the right film sample and script

    • Artist statement? Talking about your art, how and why it was created, and what it means

We also work with many students to complete the University of California Personal Insight Questions (PIQs) which require responding to four of eight prompts as well as submitting supplemental responses as the programs require.

We not only help you prepare a strong application but we keep you focused on the specific application requirements and help you stay on top of deadlines. We advise you on your portfolio or audition, review your artist statements and other written materials, and ensure that you submit the best application for each school. Then for the best part, we help you review your options once acceptances are in and facilitate an optimal transition to your best match!
